Common Import Errors

Shown below is a list of the most common errors that may occur during the import process. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list.

Unable to process Line: 1 to determine which fields to import

The first line of the import file must be a tab or comma separated list of field names. These can be in any order but must be from the valid names as shown in the article What listing information can I import and export?. The software will use this line to determine which information is been imported. Take note of the points below to reduce the chance of this error occurring.

  1. When creating the import file ensure that the first line is the list of field names you are importing.
  2. Ensure that the required field profile_name is present in the list of field names. The import process will be unable to determine which profiles to update if this field is missing.
  3. Ensure that you are importing either a CSV or TSV file. Importing other files types, such as Excel files, will result in this error.
  4. During Stage 2 of the import process, you will be prompted to select the delimiter used in the import file. You must ensure that the correct option is selected otherwise this error will occur. Therefore select the 'Comma' option if importing a CSV file and likewise select the 'Tab' option when importing 'TSV'.
